WHO: The National Endowment for the Arts

WHAT: The agency awarded a $50,000 grant to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. The Center will put on such shows as its upcoming version of "The Emperor's New Clothes," in which the "tailors are crafty foxes, the prime minister is a near-sighted camel, the councilor is a befuddled old walrus, and the Emperor is a pig."

WHY IT'S AN OUTRAGE: This is yet another example of art imitating life.

WHERE TO VENT: National Endowment for the Arts, 202.682.5400.

get your facts straight. this money supports jobs. if you don't tell the real story, if frees the right-wing blogosphere to weigh in with their prejudices (this job is important, that job is frivolous) and their homophobia (my god, supporting jobs for people that are gay!!).
