A new campaign ad from House Speaker Paul Ryan will air in his district ahead of the state's GOP primary.

In the 30-second ad titled "Integrity," Janesville, Wis., resident Richard Clarke calls Ryan a "man of integrity" and a "unifying leader."

"Somebody I know, somebody I trust … That's the guy I want to vote for," Clarke says in the ad.

According to Ryan's campaign, the ad buy cost $192,000, with another $25,000 for a corresponding radio ad.

It is the second ad of Ryan's re-election campaign, and comes two weeks before he races challenger Paul Nehlen of Delavan in the Aug. 9 Republican primary.

A RealClearPolitics average of polls puts Ryan ahead of Nehlen by 73 points.

"Paul Ryan has always run advertisements to get his message out to voters in southern Wisconsin, this year is no different," a Ryan spokesman told The Journal Times.

Ryan has represented Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District since 1999. Located in the southeastern part of the state, the district covers Kenosha, Racine County and most of Walworth counties, as well as portions of Rock, Waukesha and Milwaukee counties.
