Alexandria police have arrested a D.C. man and say he stole a ring worth more than $25,000 from an Alexandria business in July.

Cedric William Earles, 50, was arrested at his home in Washington by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department and Alexandria police department. He was charged with grand larceny and is currently awaiting extradition to Alexandria, police said.

Police said that on July 24, Earles allegedly entered Kings Jewelers on King Street in Alexandria and asked to look at diamond rings, only to make off with a platinum-and-diamond ring worth more than $25,000.
