Montgomery County police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman along the Capital Crescent Trail in Bethesda on Oct. 21.

The woman told police she was jogging on the trail at about 7 p.m. when she was hit on the head, knocked unconscious. She awoke a short time later in a wooded area off the trail.

She was able to make her way back to the trail, where she called for help and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a head injury.

Police on Friday released a sketch of the suspect -- described as a white male with a thin build and pale complexion. He's approximately 6 feet tall with short brown hair, according to police.

Authorities are also looking for a white male who was riding a bicycle in the area at the time of the assault and may have information that could help investigators.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the cyclist are asked to call police at 301-279-8000. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
