9:30 Club lets Cake fans eat their cake

We bet you can’t guess the latest place joining the cupcake trend, as the treat seems much more pop princess than rock star. But the 9:30 Club has found a way to combine rocking out and pigging out. The club will debut the sugary confections at this weekend’s two-night stand by ... wait for it ... Cake!
All Cake ticket holders will receive a complimentary Devil’s Food chocolate cupcake filled with vanilla butter cream with a 9:30 Club logo this weekend. A club spokeswoman says they’ve been working with Alexandria’s Buzz Bakery for one year on the getting the taste just right.
No doubt cupcakes — now a permanent menu item even when Cake’s not in town — will give you the sugar high you’ll need to bounce around to your favorite act.
