Boozy bus gives interns another reason to imbibe

Summer interns already have arrived on Capitol Hill, and one bar is giving them just the thing they need: Another excuse to drink.

Gin & Tonic, the preppy hangout in Glover Park, has announced “Intern Initiation Tuesdays.”

Beginning tonight, the bar will run a complementary bus from the Hill to its front door for anyone with an intern badge. Of course, as most interns are in college, many haven’t reached legal drinking age yet. Not to worry, says G&T spokeswoman Jessica Gibson — they’ll be carded before the bus ride and again at the door.

And once they get in, they’re on their own. As the slogan for the promotion reads: “We’ll get you there but we can’t take you home.”
