Corwin talks animals at National Zoo

Animal Planet star Jeff Corwin was in his natural habitat — the National Zoo — Wednesday morning, as he led local kids through the Amazonia exhibit and discussed endangered amphibians.
“We’ve lost 200 species of amphibians in the last two decades,” he said. Corwin also took the opportunity to start a new book series for kids. He leaves Friday for Panama to continue filming for a documentary, but not before he appears at a fundraiser for Defenders of Wildlife here Friday night.
