Prejean threatened walkout before she stepped on set of 'Larry King Live'

A huge "nay" for Carrie Prejean.

Upon entering CNN's Washington Bureau Wednesday night, the first words out of Former Miss California Carrie Prejean's mouth to CNN news assistant Christina McAusland were, "You tell Larry if he's not nice to me, I will get up and leave."

McAusland, who said she admired Prejean for her candor, was shocked by the beauty queen's tone and warned "Larry King Live" producer John Gilmore of her threat.

Beyond her on-air hissy fit, the beauty queen's behavior at the studio was classless.

She arrived with an entourage of five, (for cable news Green Room context, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., never arrives with a group that large) and barked at a studio operator for touching her hair while setting up her microphone.

After her appearance in which she dubbed King "inappropriate" and attempted to exit the set, Prejean accused the staffer of lying to her, saying King's producers promised no phone calls. She belittled McAusland saying, "Is the intern talking to me? Oh look at the little intern, look at the little intern trying to explain!"

"I've never been treated so poorly in my whole life," McAusland, who recently accepted an executive producer position at Newsy.com of Media Convergence Group, said.

Yeas & Nays has attempted to get comment from Prejean's camp about her "Larry King Live" appearance, but messages haven't been returned.

Following the “Larry King Live” fiasco, Prejean ditched a speech at the Republicans-only Capitol Hill Club and interviews with D.C. journalists, including The Washington Times and Politico.

When Yeas & Nays requested an interview, her publicist replied in an e-mail, “due to the confidentiality agreement Carrie signed, she must decline to comment on any and all questions regarding a so-called ‘sex tape.’”

There is no indication that Prejean has yet to talk on the record since the King interview. Her publicist added in the e-mail that Prejean's legal counsel has advised she “severely limit all her public statements and appearances” because of “continuous efforts to get Carrie to breach this agreement.”

She's just one more in a long line of "conservative values" heroes who's been exposed (pun intended) as a liar and a hypocrite.

Nothing like good old Christian values of charity and treating others with respect.

We have a saying here in Washington that Carrie will soon learn the value of. You treat the people you meet on the way up the ladder nicely because you will surely meet them on the way down.

That intern you belittled? In a year or two, he or she will be much more powerful than you, and will remember your 'inappropriate' comments. To your detriment.

The way you describe her she reminds me of phoney Dems talking about how much they care about the poor and the children and then retiring from "public service" with dump trucks full of taxpayer's cash.

I am not too worried about this totally pointless article- please notice that all accounts of the so called bad behavior is coming from the person supposedly belittled...and going to a left leaning News outlet. Hmm...wouldn't a prudent person find that just a tad suspect?

I watched the show and agree Larry as usual tried to step into a conversation they both agreed not to have. He does this with any so called conservative guest who never receive fair treatment on any CNN programs. I just wonder why Larry is still on the air that is the real question as he is merely another political hack who should just fade away.

Once again we see that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. (Even with the advances made in surgical plastic.)
If my daughter were so willfully and publicly ignorant, shallow, trampish, and badly-mannered, I would be so ashamed.

I hold no brief for Prejean. But it should be noted that this is one person's take on what transpired, and the "wronged" party's, at that. Maybe it's just damage control for a disastrous interview. The tell-tale sign for me is that the CNN assistant, McAusland, supposedly "admired" Prejean for her "candor." It reminds me of liberals who call into talk radio shows claiming to be a Republican who is disgusted with his party.

To all who will take this story as gospel truth: It's funny, isn't it, how we readily believe anything bad said about anybody we disagree with?

It always cracks me up when folks like susan and most of the other gals who comment have a hissy fit.Whatever makes you think anyone has to behave the way YOU behave.I see nothing here but jelousey.Add Whoppi the pig to this mix and it would be a typical far left jamboure.

She's got to be a Democrat (liberal).
After all she's just as tolerant, kind, caring and willing to listen to other opinions.
AS ANY DEM LIBERAL HYPOCRITE!

This Prejean has only one objective in life and that is to make money from sex.
It is phony to describe her as either a conservative or a Christian.

This woman has been scamming the right left and the media since she uttered her famously well planned anti-gay comments at her pageant.
She's a publicity whore with no class and soon to be (hopefully) humiliated when all the dirt surrounding this ahole comes out.
At the same time, I have to say, she really stuck it most to the likes of Sean Hannity and his pathetic ilk. So sometimes there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!!

I really was on her side in the beginning of this mess but boy was I fooled. Knowing all her background, I can't believe she and her handlers let her continue on this publicity tour. All this was bound to come out and now she just appears as another phoney. My advice to all young girls is stop putting your videos and pictures on the internet, it will come back to haunt you.

Dantana

The belittling is all hearsay, a case of 'she said, she said.' Ms. Prejean isn't seeking publicity and although she's a Christian this doesn't mean she's perfect. Who is?
King was trying to get her to breach an agreement and she got pissed off. End of story.
Move on, people.

Lefty

Nov 17, 2009

rdk: She describes herself as conservative and christian and many people buy that.

Melissa: maybe you should hold off on your support in the future until more information comes out and your advice to girls is sound, but maybe just stopping being whory in general and realize that having a hole between your legs doesn't entitle you to any special treatment or added respect.

No doubt that Prejean was wrong to have made the video, but worth noting since no one else seems to have noticed that Larry King was completely unprofessional -- he agreed not to discuss the issue and did so anyway. That's a deal breaker. I would have walked as well.

how can she be stopped? she is not an example of Christianity as far as I am concerned, please stop giving her press.
Why not find out what the churches are doing for the poor and the homeless. What are they doing for their neighbors who need care after surgery? Or a few dollars to pay their house payment when they are without work. What are Christians working out for oppressed peoples in Africa and South America? Please stop this Prejean blaspehmy. She is just wrong.

I agree with Carie that Larry King was inappropriate in repeatedly asking her about the confidential settlement. Obviously, King was trying to get Carie to talk about her sex tape. I have never seen King harrass a guest like that before. Also, if there was an agreement for no phone calls, then that was King's fault. To me, King was the classless one. I'm not necessarily a Carie fan, but she was the victim here IMO.

Saw the interview. She's done. Move on people.

Although, it was a good lesson in liberal tolerance. She's been labeled an "extremist" from the idiot-left for voicing an opinion shared by 60% of the population. Yes, the liberals certainly revealed who they are in this one. As for Paegen, who the hell cares who she is.

Blahblahblah

Dec 12, 2009

There's nothing inappropriate about King's line of questioning. He was quite clear: he was not asking for the legal agreement. Instead of her nonsense legal invocation, she should have said, "Larry, it isn't covered in the agreement, I realize that, but I have my personal reasons for settling, and I don't want to talk about them. Let's leave it at that."

I personally don't think King agreed not to ask *why* she settled, but I've seen hosts break promises like this -- Sean Hannity to Ted Rall springs to mind -- and they've handled things with less delay than this. She didn't announce she was leaving before she started taking off her mic, thereby dragging the matter out longer.

I wouldn't call her reaction a "tantrum," however. I think of my three-year-old bawling and banging the floor.
