Putting together ‘reality’: new show in the works

“It’s like ‘Friends’ meets ‘Entourage.’”

That was how one of our sources explained the concept behind yet another D.C-based reality show in development by the Bravo network.

This comes only a week after the cable network officially announced it is going forward with production on “The Real Housewives of D.C.”

Under the working title “Inside Washington,” producers have filmed try-out reels twice with a group of twentysomethings, including Washington Life editor Christina Wilkie; Fishbowl D.C.’s Matt Dornic and Christine Delargy; Project Beltway blogger Rachel Cothran; Politico’s Patrick Gavin; Mix 107.3’s Tommy McFly; former “Survivor” contestant Becky Lee; and the Washington Times’ Liz Glover.

As many — including Yeas & Nays — reported, camera crews were spotted filming at Republican lobbyist Juleanna Glover’s Kalorama manse back in late March. This set off rumors that Glover was tapped as a “Housewife.” Glover went on the record denying this, and we can confirm the cameras were indeed not filming her but rather “candids” of Dornic, McFly and Lee.

They also shot some trial footage of “friends hanging out doing whatever” at Dornic’s house on O Street.

As many may remember, Bravo tapped Bethesda-based production company Half Yard Productions for the local “Housewives” spinoff. We spotted their crews around town in February stating they were working on a show called “Inside Washington.” Turns out that was the pre-production title for both shows.

Bravo’s newest show to debut this summer, described on its  Web site as following a “group of hot, young professionals — corporate types by day and party animals by night,” carries the title “Miami Social.” With that in mind, can “Washington Social” be their newest spin off for Bravo? Reps at Half Yard Production did not respond to phone calls.
