There may be blizzard conditions in D.C., but politics have never been steamier than at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.

The Daily Beast's Asawin Suebsaeng injected politics into the annual XXX convention at Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel, canvassing porn stars and other industry heavyweights about their political views.

The results of this investigation: Most of the porn industry workers Suebsaeng talked to are not fans of GOP front-runner Donald Trump, but many like the messages coming from independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who has recently taken the lead in Iowa and New Hampshire in the Democratic primary from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"[Virtually] everyone here leans left, and everyone here will end up supporting Hillary," said David Lord, a director with the studio Adam & Eve. "It's a mix here of Hillary and Bernie [fans]."

Lord said he leans left and likes Sanders, but could not vote for him because he sees the self-described socialist as his "old, Jewish uncle," and he "can't imagine my old, Jewish uncle getting elected president."

As for Trump, Lord did not have kind words: "He preys on the simple, good Americans throughout the country with theatrics, not substance."

Many of the porn stars Suebsaeng interviewed repeated that general anti-Trump, pro-Sanders stance.

"If Trump wins, I'm leaving this country, I'm going to Europe to shoot porn," said Dani Daniels, the 2016 XBIZ (an adult film industry publication) female performer of the year. As for who has her vote? "I like Bernie Sanders," she said. "I don't like anyone else [who is running]."

Porn star Karla Kush said she is also voting for Sanders, and gave specific reasons why he has earned her support over Clinton.

"Women distrust her," Kush said of Clinton. "Bernie is generally about equality in how he sees gay marriage, or cannabis reform, or civil rights... I believe he supports my independence as a woman and as a professional."

Another porn star, Sarah Vendella, said she feels that Sanders will be the president for her profession.

"Bernie's the man, I definitely feel the Bern," she said. "For the industry, I would love to see Bernie [as president]. I feel like Bernie gets it [and that he] wouldn't nitpick us to death. He would look at it like these are consenting adults, so why can't they have sex without a condom?"

According to First Amendment lawyer J. Michael Murray, one of the reasons the porn industry is so overwhelmingly liberal is that Republicans tend to cater to religious conservatives who would probably rather see pornography eradicated altogether.

"If a Republican wins in 2016 ... all bets are off," he told the Daily Beast.
