Firefighters in Prince George's County battled a house fire Friday evening that caused $100,000 in damage and displaced one adult and one child.

When firefighters responded to a house fire on the 6000 block of Longfellow Street in Riverdale, they found the second floor of the two-story duplex engulfed in flames. Only one family lived in the duplex, as the other side was empty. The occupants of the home were outside when firefighters arrived.

One firefighter sustained minor burn injuries and was treated and released.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
