On Fox News Sunday yesterday, Sen. Rand Paul encouraged Republicans to eschew “cookie cutter” conservatism in order to win in the future.

“I think the Republican Party needs to figure out how to be bigger and I think I do bring some ideas to that,” Paul explained adding that he had spoken with the RNC about many of his ideas, including a softer tone on drug use, immigration and foreign policy.

“I think some of those ideas are more libertarian-Republican approach to things, and I think that a lot of young people are attracted to that,” Paul added. “And our party could grow if we accepted something maybe a little different than a cookie cutter conservatives that we’ve put out in the past.”
