Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price told President Trump Friday that he would continue to support his "critical priorities," despite his resignation from the administration in the wake of a scandal involving his use of charter planes.

"I have spent forty years both as a doctor and public servant putting people first," Price wrote. "I regret that the recent events have created a distraction from these important objectives."

"You may rest assured that I will continue to support your critical priorities going ahead because failure is not an option for the American people," he added.
