Receiver hasn't played since Oct. 7 vs. Atlanta

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon isn't sure whether or not he'll be able to return for the Nov. 18 game vs. Philadelphia, which he and the Redskins had targeted. Garcon hasn't played since Oct. 7 vs. Atlanta and has appeared in only three games all season because of a torn plantar plate under the second toe on his right foot.

"I'll try to go after the bye and see how it feels, but I'm still trying to get as much pain out of it as we can," Garcon said. "It's getting better. I'm trying to put more force on it, walking around every day with orthotics in my shoes and trying to give it more push. It's still not what it needs to be."

If his foot does not heal sufficiently over the next couple weeks, surgery is an option.

"We're trying to avoid that at all costs," he said. "Sometimes you have to be realistic and be like, just have it and hopefully it's a successful surgery and you recover from it."

Notes ยป Right tackle Jammal Brown, who has been on the physically unable to perform list since training camp started, has been cleared to return to practice. Brown underwent surgery on Aug. 23 to remove a ligament from his hip area, which he said has helped him feel considerably better. Tyler Polumbus has started the first nine games at right tackle and, until Sunday, had played better of late. But until the coaches have seen Brown practice, it's uncertain if or when he'll return to the lineup. ...

The Redskins cut corner David Jones and promoted corner D.J. Johnson off the practice squad. The Redskins cut Jones this summer only to re-sign him on Sept. 25, largely because of his special teams work. Rookie corner Richard Crawford had made some mistakes on special teams early in the season, one reason Jones had been re-signed. ...

Long snapper Nick Sundberg, who broke his left arm in the season opener vs. New Orleans, was activated off the injured reserve/designated to return list Tuesday. The Redskins cut long snapper Justin Snow. Sundberg returned to practice on Oct. 24.
