Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III continues to have success with his legs, especially in the red zone. He scored on a called quarterback draw from 7 yards out and showed his speed on his breakaway 76-yard score. He amassed 138 yards on the ground.

Under the radar

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander provided the pressure the Redskins have been looking for since the loss of Brian Orakpo. He had four quarterback hits, 11√ö2 sacks and recovered a fumble to set up a touchdown.

How play-action opened up the middle of the field? Griffin's running ability forces linebackers up to the line, which allowed tight end Fred Davis and receiver Santana Moss to take advantage of the middle of the field.

From the sidelines

Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave likes to get the ball in the hands of Percy Harvin in a lot of different ways. The receiver had 11 catches for 133 yards and had a 45-yard kick return, but he didn't factor into the running game (two carries).

Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan wasn't afraid to call running plays with Griffin, who left last game with a concussion. After just one carry last week, Griffin ran the ball 13 times against the Vikings.
