Both seem likely to play vs. Giants

Redskins left tackle Trent Williams and linebacker London Fletcher, both suffering from leg injuries, did not practice Monday.

Williams suffered a deep left thigh bruise on the third play of Washington's 38-31 win over Dallas on Thanksgiving. Fletcher played with a sprained left ankle and could not finish the game. He originally hurt the ankle in the win over Philadelphia on Nov. 18.

"I wouldn't be concerned about London. He always seems to be there," Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. "I used to always worry about it, but I don't worry about it anymore. He always seems to be ready to go."

Williams, who has dealt with knee and ankle problems this year, said he played at about 60 percent vs. Dallas. But he remains upbeat about playing vs. the New York Giants on Monday.

"I'm going to stay optimistic," he said, "but it's up to Coach [Shanahan]. I should be good. It's a must that I'll be out there, but it's a long week, and we'll see what happens. I should be all right."

The Redskins must make a decision Tuesday afternoon on whether to activate right tackle Jammal Brown to the 53-man roster, release him or place him on injured reserve. Considering Brown recently hurt his hip again, the choices will come down to placing him on IR or cutting him. Shanahan said Monday he knew what he was going to do but had yet to tell Brown. ...

The Redskins placed linebacker Keenan Robinson on injured reserve after the rookie tore his right pectoral muscle vs. Dallas. The Redskins signed linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy, a fourth-round pick in 2010 by Cincinnati. The former Texas linebacker played in 19 games for Cincinnati and was a standout on special teams. He missed last season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. The Bengals cut him in August, re-signed him in September and waived him again Nov. 9.
