In an interview Monday on Fox News, Gowdy referred to the three as "Larry, Moe and Curly," as he challenged senators to take the highly unlikely action of rejecting the nominees.
"How are these three clowns that are up for ambassadorship right now going to get through the Senate?" he asked. "Because the Senate won't do anything about it."
As I've pointed out, the three nominees -- hotel company CEO George Tsunis for Norway, soap opera producer Colleen Bell for Hungary and consultant Noah Bryson Mamet for Argentina -- are unqualified amateurs who displayed embarrassing ignorance about their host countries at their confirmation hearings and are highly unlikely to be up to the challenges of the complex relations with those three nations.
Or, as Gowdy put it: "They can't find the Equator on a globe with Lewis and Clark standing over their shoulder."
