Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer finally met Pope Francis, months after he was blocked from meeting the pope during President Trump's trip to the Vatican.

Spicer and lawmakers from around the world were welcomed to the Vatican this week as part of the International Catholic Legislators Network, America magazine reported.

Spicer is seen taking a photo of the pope in an image posted on the Vatican Radio Facebook Page.

A White House official told CNN in May that Spicer was devastated that he was excluded from a meet and greet with the pope during Trump's visit.

"Wow. That's all he wanted," the official said.
