Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer wants a piece of Melissa McCarthy's recent Emmy victory, saying Monday he believes the comedian should share her award with him.

"I think we should share," Spicer said, laughing, when asked about McCarthy's recent Emmy win.

McCarthy won an Emmy for best guest actress in a comedy series during Sunday's Creative Arts Emmys for her portrayal of Spicer on "Saturday Night Live."

During an interview with The Blast while walking through Union Station in Washington, D.C., Spicer said he would "have a conversation" about hosting an episode of "Saturday Night Live" if the offer were extended to him.

The former White House press secretary also said President Trump has a "great sense of humor," and said there were a "couple times" when he and Trump laughed about McCarthy's skits on the show.

"We had a good time out of it," he said.

Spicer resigned from his post in July, and his last day at the White House was Aug. 31.

The former White house press secretary has since signed with Worldwide Speakers Group.
