In spending nearly four of every 10 days relaxing away from the White House, President Joe Biden has chosen his two Delaware resort homes the most.
But he has also revived the usage of Camp David in Thurmont, Maryland, using it the most since former President George W. Bush, according to records provided to Secrets.

So far, Biden has spent all or parts of 96 days at the rustic resort in Catoctin Mountain Park. While he has held a handful of official meetings in the historic offices of the facility first used by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who called it “Shangri-La,” the Democrat has largely considered it a weekend hideout.
A list of Biden’s vacation days drawn up by Jake Schneider of the Republican National Committee showed that the president typically spends two to four nights at the U.S. Navy facility famously renamed “Camp David” by former President Dwight Eisenhower for his grandson.

In his first three years, Biden has joined a long list of recent presidents eager to leave Washington for breaks. And like many, including both Bushes and former President Donald Trump, he has his own homes to visit for long weekends and even longer vacations, such as the one he is spending this week in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Schneider’s list shows that the president uses his Wilmington house the most, spending all or part of 196 days there. He has spent the third most days from Washington, 50, at Rehoboth.
Unlike his former boss, former President Barack Obama, who rarely visited his Chicago home, Biden has not taken many vacations at other homes or resorts.
Schneider’s list shows a week in St. Croix, a week at Kiawah Island, and two weeks on the exclusive Massachusetts island of Nantucket.

In being away from Washington for about 370 days, the president has averaged more than 35% of every month in office on vacation.
Like the aides of past presidents, Biden’s team says the president is always working, though Biden is often shown riding his bike or laying out on the beach while he’s at Rehoboth, a beach town very popular with Washingtonians.

Unlike some other past presidents, his team doesn’t hold regular media briefings in resort towns.
His critics feel that Biden should spend more time with his West Wing team working on the economy than dozing on the beach.
Schneider said, “It’s not surprising Biden has spent almost an entire year of his presidency on vacation. Corruption and incompetence take their toll. As Americans pay more and earn less, perhaps Biden should focus more of his energy on solving Americans’ problems — though there is certainly a strong argument to be made that Biden being away from the Oval Office is actually a good thing for the country.”
