Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Granite City, Ill., on Wednesday to mark the fifth anniversary of the stimulus legislation.

Biden is expected to promote more government spending in infrastructure projects, and visit the Central Port.

Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx and former secretary Ray LaHood will also be there.

President Obama appointed Biden as "Sheriff Joe," after the stimulus act was widely criticized for wasting government funds.

“You guys know that when the president gave me the responsibility of dealing with and implementing this recovery act, he called me Sheriff Joe. Well, I've still got my badge on,” Biden said in 2010.

“We still need to know where every dollar went and to — and every recipient that got a dollar. Not reporting is not acceptable.”
