11/22/09 1:37 PM EST

We all love to argue over our favorite football announcers. Today you can get involved with this story by reading who are friends at the Sporting News and Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily the Top 25 Football Broadcasters – now look at their picks and mine.

Then in the comments are tell me your favorites and I will print some of them later in the week.

CBS college football analyst Gary Danielson leads the list, followed by Cris Collinsworth and Al Michaels of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” CBS NFL analyst Phil Simms and ABC/ESPN college analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

All active play-by-play broadcasters and analysts in pro and college football were considered for the list.

The list and accompanying features will run in the Nov. 23 issue of Sporting News magazine and more features will appear in the Nov. 23-29 issue of Sports Business Journal and on the Sports Business Daily site Nov. 23.

3. Al Michaels 16. Ron Jaworski
4. Phil Simms 17. Greg Gumbel
5. Kirk Herbstreit 18. Sean McDonough
6. Troy Aikman 19. Todd Blackledge
7. Ron Franklin 20. Dan Fouts
8. Verne Lundquist 21. Bob Papa
9. Joe Buck 22. Mike Patrick
10. Jim Nantz 23. Chris Fowler
11. Mike Tirico 24. Gus Johnson
12. Brad Nessler 25. Dick Enberg
13. Brent Musburger

My favorites on college analysts are as follows
1. Gary Danielson – He is very entertaining and best of all speaks his mind.
2. Kirk Herbstreit – Clearly has come into his own. Polished and very smart.
3. Rick “Doc” Walker – Smart, enthusiastic, and knows the game. Should be on nationally but good on ACC.
4. Randy Cross – Overlooked and very good a real asset to CBS College Sports.
5. Pat Hayden – No homer for Notre Dame. He is very smooth and does a wonderful job.

Top college play by play men
1. Brent Musburger – He is the best big game voice. No one sells a game better than Brent.
2. Verne Lundquist – He is old school and since Keith Jackson retired Verne has taken his sense of humor and knowledge to make games entertaining.
3. Tim Brant – No longer on the national stage he still call a great game. He does a super job on the ACC.
4. Chris Fowler – very underrated as a college broadcaster.
5. Mike Patrick – One my favorite play by play men on any sport. He excels in his role on the college games.

NFL Play by play men
1. Al Michaels – He is still the best. Al has been outstanding for a number of years and he remains the standard by others are measured.
2. Dick Enberg – There is no doubt that Dick is a classic and he is to football what Vin Scully is to baseball. OH MY!!
3. Jim Nantz – Mr. Smooth – he always is consistent, the best in the business at advancing a storyline.
4. Joe Buck – He is quick, smart and has a great sense of humor. Buck is the hippest broadcaster.
5. Mike Tirico – There is no doubt that he has established himself as the new voice of ESPN MNF and is the best at keeping things moving in a three man booth.

NFL  analysts
1. Ron Jaworski – I have known Jaws for years and no one watches more tape or does more homework on all teams each week than he does. Jaws uses that knowledge better than anyone.
2. Cris Collinsworth – The smartest, most complete analyst on TV. Cris is also very outspoken and is given the freedom to speak his mind.
3. Phil Simms – Very direct, to the point and at ease breaking down a game. That is what Simms does best – he is a X’s and O’s guy.
4. Troy Aikman – He is at his best breaking down offenses. The former Cowboys QB can really give fans insight into how a game is called on the offensive side of the ball.
5. Jon Gruden – He is the rookie of the year and seems to be at home in the booth on MNF.

Gary danielson's partner in broadcasting should have read the whole scripture or no scripture on tim tebow's face, not just the 1st verse. what was he afraid of?
