Caps Second Period Update

Caps 2, Panthers 0

Brendan Morrison put Washington up by two heading into the third period. It was his fifth goal of the season. Florida has yet to beat Jose Theodore on 20 shots so far. But injuries continue to mount for the Caps. Jeff Schultz left the ice at 15:30 of the second period. He joins fellow defenseman Mike Green in the dressing room. Green did not return after his fourth shift in the first period. They made up for one of those by putting Tyler Sloan back on defense. But Caps will have to play down a forward and down a defenseman now with Schultz out. We'll see if they can hold. But they may want to add a goal or two to salt this one away.
