George Washington's Distillery & Gristmill is now open for the season, which means you can nab the unaged George Washington rye whiskey at the distillery's gift shop -- located about three miles from the Mount Vernon estate. For all you whiskey lovers, this particular whiskey tastes slightly floral and earthy and is surprisingly sweet. It's the most authentic version of Washington's whiskey available today. Thanks to his detailed record keeping, the Mount Vernon staff was able to replicate the recipe that the first president used during his lifetime. Just about 1,100 bottles are available for the year, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday -- and they will sell out very quickly at $95 a bottle.

Admission to the distillery (3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway) is $17 for adults and $8 for kids. It's important to note that you cannot phone in an order; you must be present to purchase a bottle.

It's cuatro de abril, and we're celebrating! OK, so it's not as famous as Cinco de Mayo, but we at Spotlight love April 4th, as it's National Burrito Day -- something we definitely don our sombreros for. And it's a holiday all the local Lime Fresh locations are celebrating, as well. They're offering buy one, get one half off any of their eight signature burritos. So whether you're in the mood for the to-die-for Queso Burrito, Big Cali Burrito or even their traditional Bean Burrito, all you need to do is bring a friend and get yours half off! We also recommend that you get an order of their classic guac, or maybe their hombre guac if you are up for the spice -- both are great additions to your lunch.

The burrito shop uses the best ingredients available, delivered daily and prepared on-site.

The burrito deal is available at all of their stores in the District. Go to to learn more.
