Helix Lounge (1430 Rhode Island Ave. NW) is kicking off a new summer tradition Tuesday evening that'll certainly bring some relief to craft beer lovers during these upcoming muggy summer nights. Every Tuesday night, the lounge will be hosting a Local Beer Night with $4 drafts of local brews -- pretty darn cheap (especially compared with its pricey, crowded neighbor across the street!). Some of the craft beers that'll be featured include DC Brau's Public Pale Ale, Port City's Essential Pale Ale, Starr Hill's the Love wheat hefeweizen and Flying Dog's Old Scratch Amber Lager. A whole new round of local beers will be on tap again after July 15, so be sure to check out the listing at helixlounge.com.

Some of your favorite Adams Morgan restaurants have teamed up for Taste of Adams Morgan, a culinary adventure featuring some of the District's best prix-fixe dishes -- and all for a good cause! You can purchase four tasting tickets for only $20, or if you're really hungry, seven tickets for $30. These tickets let you try from 4:30 to 8 p.m. one prix-fixe or sweet "taste" at several participating restaurants including Madam's Organ, La Fourchette, Rumba Cafe, Bardia's New Orleans Cafe, and Millie & Al's.

All of the proceeds will go toward Mary's Center, a federally funded health center that provides health care, family literacy and social services to those who cannot afford care.

You can purchase your tickets at A Little Shop of Flowers (2421 18th St. NW), Toro Mata (2410 18th St. NW) or Wise Owl Club (2010 18th St. NW).

Bud Anderson is one of the most decorated fighter pilots from World War II, and his resume proves it. He's been on 116 missions, directed flight testing during the Cold War, logged more than 7,500 flying hours in 130 types of aircraft and even written a flight memoir called "To Fly and Fight." If you've ever met Anderson, you'll also know that he still loves to talk airplanes and still flies them like he's 19 (some things never die!).

He'll be speaking at the National Air and Space Museum (600 Independence Ave. SW) at 8 p.m. in a lecture titled "Memoirs of a Triple Ace: Cold War Flight Testing." There also will be a screening of the film "Fighter Pilot" at the Lockheed Martin IMAX Theater before the lecture at 7 p.m. This event is free!
