The holidays bring endless Christmas parties, but do they all come with spa swag bags? We think not. That's why Aura Spa's holiday open house is the one party you can't miss. This unique neighborhood spa is hosting an evening at Penn Quarter's top eatery, 901 Restaurant & Bar (901 Ninth St. NW), that includes complimentary "All About the Aura" cocktails, delicious hors d'oeuvres and happy hour prices all night long.

You can also enter the holiday raffle and win some pampering prizes, such as a $50 gift card to Aura Spa, VIDA Express and Aura Experience spa treatment packages or even a $50 gift card to 901 Restaurant. And let's not forget about those swag bags. Every gift bag will include retail product samples from Aura Spa's chic premier skincare collection. The party starts at 7 p.m.

The holidays can be stressful, and it's easy to lose sight of the important and meaningful aspects of the season. That's why four graduate students from the Corcoran College of Art + Design have created a free exhibition opening Tuesday called gather.HYGGE that embodies the meaning of Christmas. They are partnering with the Embassy of Denmark to translate the Danish cultural term "hygge," which refers to feelings of joy, warmth and togetherness. MA Interior Design students Audrey Cotton and Jacqueline Hiersteiner as well as MA Exhibition Design students Maizie Clarke and Alexandra Hunger will showcase their concept at the Residence of the Ambassador (3200 Whitehaven St. NW), where on Thursday there will be an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. You'll even have the opportunity to meet Danish artist Gugger Petter and admire the Danish furniture in the 1960s home.
