WASHINGTON (AP) — The old St. Elizabeths Hospital in southeast Washington will be open for the second time this summer for a community event.
Saturday's event at the east campus of the former mental hospital will include live music, art booths and a farmer's market. A tour of the historic hospital is also planned.
The campus has long been slated for redevelopment. Federal workers are slated to move into the redeveloped west campus next year. The city is redeveloping the east campus and is scheduled to break ground next year.
Saturday's events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
