Mindy Finn was a Republican digital communications professional when she got the call to be Independent conservative presidential candidate Evan McMullin's running mate. Why did she take the job?

"If we don't stand up when we have the opportunity ... then we're going to continue to get Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump," Finn told the Washington Examiner's Kristen Soltis Anderson. "Standing up for principle is never wrong."

In a wide-ranging interview, Finn discusses the McMullin "moon shot" strategy for impacting the 2016 election, how Utah could play a historic role in picking the president and how their campaign is focused on the GOP's future.

"In Utah, we're winning millennials," Finn said. She said that they are the only people in this race who are talking about the issues of technology and the economy that impacts young voters.
