“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert mocked Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday, a day after the president’s son’s tweet on socialism went viral.
Trump Jr. tweeted a photo of his daughter Chloe on Halloween, writing, “I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism.”

The comedian fired back: “Yes, it’s never too early to teach kids the dangers of sharing. Also, it’s never too early to learn the proper spelling of the word ‘too.'”
“I bet that other ‘o’ went to a poor person,” Colbert joked.
Earlier Wednesday, Trump Jr. defended himself by accusing social justice warriors of not caring as much about the New York City terror attack as they did about his socialism tweet.
“Enough of the PC lib crap!” he wrote.
If only blue checkmark SJWs cared as much about terrorists attacking us as they do about me attacking socialism. Enough of the PC lib crap!— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) November 1, 2017
