On the ‘Colbert Show’ last night, comedian Stephen Colbert offered a tribute to his mother Lorna Colbert, a Catholic mother of 11, who died last week.

“She was fun,” Colbert said, struggling to fight off tears. “She knew more than her share of tragedy, losing her brother and her husband and three of her sons, but her love for her family and her faith in God somehow gave her the strength to not only go on, but to love life without bitterness, and instill in all of us a gratitude  for every day we have together.”

After the tribute, Colbert continued his show, highlighting the ‘Cap’n Crunch scandal,’ and mocking Wall Street for inflating the housing market again and mocking the state of North Carolina for taxing electric cars.
