Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon lost 12 pounds after leaving the White House thanks to a smoothie diet.

Four pages of food restrictions are posted on his refrigerator in his Capitol Hill townhouse, and his aides have strict instructions on what food to buy for him.

Smoothies have been his go-to meal. Bannon has also tried to steer clear of red meat, and snacks are not allowed, though he goes for the hummus when necessary.

He has since gained much of what he lost during the first week of the diet, Politico reported Wednesday.

“Life after the White House, every day is a holiday. Every meal is a banquet,” Bannon told the news organization.
