Montgomery County police say a suspect sought for a September bank robbery might be the same man who held up the same bank in August.

A man entered the Capital One bank branch at 101 Halpine Road in Rockville on Sept. 18 shortly after noon, approached the teller and presented a note demanding cash, according to Montgomery County police. The suspect implied he had a weapon, authorities said, and was given an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving.

Detectives believe the same man robbed the bank branch on Aug. 20, 2011, when a man entered the bank at about 10 a.m., presented a note and was given cash before fleeing.

The suspect in the first robbery was described as a black male, 6 foot 3 inches tall and wearing a black windbreaker, blue jeans and black sneakers. Police described him as between 25 and 30 years old.

The suspect in the September robbery was also described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket and a black-and-white hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call police at 240-773-5100. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
