You ruined Tim Tebow's Christmas.

Yes, you. Tim Tebow had a bad holiday. He was worried you no longer love him. He was sad you thought he quit on the New York Jets.

But you remember. Tim Tebow said he was excited to play for the New York Jets. Excited is Tim Tebow's favorite nondenominational word. Tim Tebow is too excited to quit on the Jets.

So Tim Tebow was excited for the opportunity (what a long word!) to be the Jets' third-string quarterback last week. Very excited. He's excited to be Mark Sanchez's backup this week. Of course, he was excited to direct the Wildcat. He never told Rex Ryan he didn't want to be a situational player. He never got in a heated argument. There must have been some misunderstanding. Who knows why Ryan never said otherwise?

You media types. Always making trouble. Always making Tim Tebow look bad. He doesn't care what you say about his skill on the football field. He only cares how you describe him as a man.

Tim Tebow tells you in the not-so-many words that elude him that he is not a cancer. Not a "phony." As if protesting such does not make it so.

Can you blame Tim Tebow for being frustrated? Getting passed over for Greg McElroy? Tim Tebow won the Heisman, for heaven's sake. He led the Broncos to the playoffs last year. McElroy was sacked 11 times Sunday. How could Tim Tebow not be frustrated? But to think he quit, to think he is not all about team, all about character and integrity and everything righteous ... how dare you?

"That's what's disappointing, people saying, 'You quit' or 'You didn't do this.' That was not it at all," Tim Tebow tells reporters. "It was me asking to get an opportunity to play the position I love, which is quarterback. It wasn't me asking out of anything."

Other than New York, of course. By all accounts, you will find Tim Tebow very excited to be in Jacksonville next year as the third-string quarterback behind Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne.
