Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is a big fan of Ashton Kutcher after the actor gave a speech about opportunity and hard work after he won the “Ultimate Choice Award” at the Teen Choice Awards last week.
“Remarkable speech,” Cruz tweeted, linking to a YouTube video of the speech. “Great message, esp for young people, about hard work & opportunity.”
“I believe that opportunity looks a lot like hard work,” Kutcher explained to his screaming fans last Wednesday pointing out that during his youth he carried shingles, washed dishes, worked in a grocery store deli, and even had a job “sweeping Cheerio dust” at a factory.
“I’ve never had a job in my life that I was better than,” he added. “I was always just lucky to have a job. And every job I had was a steppingstone to my next job, and I never quit my job until I had my next job. And so opportunities look a lot like work.”
