Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was instantly swarmed by reporters as he left the Senate floor Wednesday, but he failed to signal any levity or relief at the end of his speech that lasted over 21 hours.
The freshman senator responded to questions with two lengthy statements highlighting the problems with Obamacare, remaining completely on message.
Cruz left the Capitol in a black sedan at 12:25 p.m. on his way to do an interview with Rush Limbaugh.
As Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, left the Capitol, he was asked by this writer if the conclusion of Cruz's filibuster signaled the end of the Republican fight to defund Obamacare.
"No," he responded. "We keep on fighting."
