Woman sexually assaulted in Southeast
A woman was forced inside her apartment and sexually assaulted shortly after midnight on Saturday.
D.C. police said the woman was in her apartment in the 1300 block of Congress Street SE when she heard a knock on the door. She answered it, and a man was standing there. He forced her inside and sexually assaulted her. When he left, the woman called police and was transported to a local hospital.
Police did not say whether the woman previously knew the man. There are no suspects at this time.
Four year old killed in Alexandria collision
A four-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Alexandria.
Police said the boy ran into the street at about 11:05 a.m., on Saturday, on the 1600 block of Stevenson Avenue.
An 84-year-old man was driving eastbound on the street when the boy ran into the road. The boy's mother ran after him and they were both struck by the car.
Both were transported to the hospital, where the boy was pronounced dead. The mother sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The driver remained on the scene.
Two men found injured in Alexandria
Police said two men were discovered in a vehicle in Alexandria with life-threatening injuries on Friday night. One suspect has been taken into custody in the case.
The two men were found in a van at about 6 p.m. in the 500 block of Four Mile Road. Police said the men were not shot, but severely wounded. They were transported to a local hospital and were in critical condition Saturday.
Police said at about 12 p.m. on Saturday that a suspect had been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
