Arrests made in death of man whose body dumped on street

Prince William County police have arrested two men in connection with the dumping of a body along a residential street in Woodbridge on Tuesday.

Police charged Juan Carlos Flores, 25, with first-degree murder of 47-year-old Barbaro Lupe Alonso-Iraola. Jose Miguel Diaz, 28, of Woodbridge was charged as an accessory after the fact to murder.

A resident spotted a body in front of his home on the 15000 block of Cardin Place at about 11 p.m. Tuesday and called police.

Witnesses told police that two men pulled up in van, left the body and then fled.

Police said Flores was involved in the slaying, and Flores let Diaz used the van to move the body, but Flores was not the second man seen in the van with Diaz.

Girl fights off attacker on walk to school

Prince George's County police said a man assaulted a teenage girl as she walked to her school bus stop in Fort Washington.

It happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, near Lourdes and Hickory drives.

An adult male grabbed the girl, causing them both to fall to the ground. She was able to kick her attacker and escape.

The assailant is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sweat pants.

Dumfries woman killed in home

A Dumfries woman was shot and killed inside her home Thursday.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. Thursday. Prince William County police responded to a report of gunshots at a trailer park on the 17600 block of Washington Street, and discovered an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the woman's identity.
