Abduction at Super 8

Authorities are looking for a man accused of abducting a woman at a Super 8 Motel in Dumfries.

Prince William County police said Dion Phoenix, of Newport News, Va., forced his way into a motel room occupied by a 32-year-old woman about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Phoenix locked the door and would not allow her to leave, but she was able to call police while she distracted the man.

Phoenix, 21, is described as a black male, 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds, with a short black hair and a star tattoo on his check.

7 hurt, including firefighters, in Beltway crash

Seven people, including four volunteer firefighters, were injured in a multivehicle crash on the Capital Beltway in Prince George's County, officials said.

About 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, a fire engine traveling on the inner loop just past Route 50 was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.

Both vehicles fell onto the outer loop of the Beltway. An SUV was also involved in the crash and overturned in the outer loop.

Four firefighters, two occupants of the SUV and one occupant of the tractor-trailer suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police seek indecent exposers

Prince George's County police and University of Maryland police are investigating two incidents of indecent exposure in College Park.

The first happened about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on the 4500 block of College Avenue. The victim said she observed a man with his pants down, and believes he may have been masturbating as he was standing next to a vehicle. The man made no attempt to interact with the victim. The culprit is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old.

About 1:45 p.m., the university police responded to an indecent exposure call on campus, also involving a white male. The man in this incident is described as approximately 20 years old.
