Washington Examiner's Byron York has just released his reporting assessment on what's in the Nunes memo. Still, it's unlikely to change many minds about who is right and who is wrong here.
Don't believe me? Then consider the Twitter reaction to my piece Thursday on why the two top House intelligence committee members, Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and Adam Schiff, R-Calif., should step down.
First up, the conservative reactions.
Nunes has done nothing wrong except expose the truth. Thank goodness! Stay right where he is!— Scanlon (@TJScanlon4) February 2, 2018
So, because Schiff is in front of every camera he can find, slandering Nunes at every turn, Nunes should resign? You are a joke & ya weak!— Caleb-Matt Williams (@amicusets) February 2, 2018
no, Nunes did absolutely nothing wrong, he saw an abuse of power and took a great risk to uncover it.— JV (@jaelsvoice) February 1, 2018
No I dont think so. @DevinNunes has done an outstanding job bringing to light the disgusting corruption.Schiff however has done nothing but HIDE and LEAK!— Constitutional-TQN???? (@TechQn) February 1, 2018
Liberals, however, took a very different reading.
Nope. This isn’t a pox on both their houses situation. Schiff is smart, principled, & capable of nonpartisan cooperation. Why should he step down because YOUR tribe-@DevinNunes & @SpeakerRyan are partisan hacks putting #PartyOverCountry and endangering us? #RedDevin #NunesMemo— MDGirl (@mcmdgirl) February 1, 2018
Some reason you need to blame Schiff for t.Nunes failings?
Does it advance your agenda in some way?
Or are you just trying to get the set-up going?
Thanks t.Rump and thank you t.Nunes and t.Rogan too!— Real Toddler t.Rump (@CCFreemanIII) February 1, 2018
Fortunately, at least one person agrees with me!
Even if Nunes' actions are only to balance the partisan bullshit of Schiff, they still were partisan. TomR is right, here.— ????Desert/Rat???? (@Desert0Rat) February 1, 2018
That said, the battle lines were drawn well before the memo was released. Its actual content won't be changing many minds.
