New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman called President Trump a “brain-eating disease” who is going to "suck the brains out" of journalists struggling to keep up with covering him.
“I find from a journalism point of view Donald Trump is a brain-eating disease,” Friedman said on MSNBC Wednesday. “He does so many outrageous things on a daily basis ... as a journalist or columnist you think, how can I not write about that, it's so outrageous? Yet, if I write about it every week, I end up not going out and learning or writing about all these other things.”
Friedman said he thinks it’s “a real danger that Trump is going to suck the brains out of so many reporters and columnists.”
“I feel like what Trump is doing, he’s attacking two principles that are foundation of our democracy — truth and trust,” he said.
