A heated exchange between senior White House adviser Stephen Miller and CNN host Jake Tapper continued off the air after their already contentious Sunday interview, according to a transcript released Monday.

The interview took place Sunday and Miller and Tapper repeatedly clashed while discussing President Trump and the controversial "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" book.

CNN confirmed that night that Miller was asked "politely" to leave the “State of the Union” set several times but ignored the requests. Security then escorted him out.

A producer for CBS on Monday tweeted what he said was a transcript of the conversation between Miller and Tapper that continued after the show was over.

"You gave me two minutes," the transcript quotes Miller as saying.

"Stephen, okay. Thanks for coming in," Tapper replied.

"You should be ashamed of yourself, honestly," Miller said.

"This is the reason they don't put you on TV, okay? This is the reason," Tapper said.

CNN did not return a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.
