President Trump assured the nation he's watching the path of Hurricane Harvey closely from Camp David in Maryland as the Category 4 story batters the Texas coastline.

Harvey made landfall last night and brought winds exceeding 110 miles per hour with it. Trump praised FEMA Director Brock Long for his work and said all government entities are working well together.

"Closely monitoring #HurricaneHarvey from Camp David. We are leaving nothing to chance. City, State and Federal Govs. working great together!" Trump tweeted.

He also responded to a tweet from Long, saying, "You are doing a great job — the world is watching! Be safe."

Trump also responded to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, who urged him on Friday to pay attention to Harvey and focus on that in order to avoid the mistakes made by President George W. Bush and his administration during Katrina.

"@realDonaldTrump #hurricane keep on top of hurricane Harvey dont mke same mistake Pres Bush made w Katrina," Grassley tweeted Friday morning.

Trump responded on Saturday that he got the message.

"@ChuckGrassley - got your message loud and clear. We have fantastic people on the ground, got there long before #Harvey. So far, so good!" Trump tweeted.
