President Trump renewed his attacks on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Tuesday, saying the Kentucky Republican is the reason that Obamacare repeal failed late last month.
"The only problem I have with Mitch McConnell is that, after hearing Repeal & Replace for 7 years, he failed! That should NEVER have happened," he tweeted on Thursday.

The tweet comes after reports of strife between McConnell and Trump during a recent heated phone call. Trump was angry not only at the Obamacare repeal failure during a vote last month but also that McConnell hasn't done more to defend him in a probe into Russian interference with the 2016 elections, according to Politico.
The tweet also comes a few hours after Trump tweeted McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan are the reason for delaying the debt ceiling fight until the last minute.

The tweet came less than a day after the White House and Congress tried to mend fences.
"President Donald J. Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell remain united on many shared priorities," White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement on Wednesday.
Trump and McConnell are scheduled to sit down to discuss several legislative priorities once Congress returns from its August recess in a few weeks.
