President Trump, who self-funded much of his 2016 campaign, took the stage Friday night in his first official appeal to mega donors of the Republican National Committee.
The Palm Beach, Fla., event was private. Trump, who has already mentioned running for reelection in 2020, was likely setting the stage for that campaign.
A few hundred people were expected at the weekend donor retreat at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, about five miles south of Trump's Mar-a-Lago Resort.
Trump headlined the Friday evening event. Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Sen. Marco Rubio are scheduled to address guests on Saturday.
It's Trump's fourth weekend in Palm Beach, where his Mar-a-Lago winter home is located. The donors will also spend time aboard casino mogul Steve Wynn's $215 million yacht over the weekend.
