Donald Trump on Thursday night was asked straight out about Nikki Haley's criticism of him, responding, "I will gladly accept the mantle of anger."
"I'm very angry. Our country is being run horribly," Trump said during the Fox Business GOP debate.
"Our military is a disaster. Our healthcare is a horror show. Obamacare — we're going to repeal it and replace it. We have no borders. Our vets are being treated horribly. Illegal immigration is beyond belief," Trump said.
"Our country is being run by incompetent people, and yes, I am angry," Trump said. "Until we fix it, I'm very, very angry."
Haley, the South Carolina governor, critiqued Trump during her GOP response to the State of the Union speech Tuesday, calling on Republicans and Americans to resist the country's angriest voices.
Haley is speculated to be a possible vice presidential candidate.
Trump also relayed that he had spoken to Haley Thursday and they were and are still "friends."
"When Nikki said that, I wasn't offended," Trump said.
