President Trump brought back his famous "The Apprentice" catchphrase at the Celebrate Freedom Rally on Saturday while discussing the VA reform bill that was recently signed into law, designed to increase accountability at the agency.
"Now you can say: 'You're fired,'" the president said while discussing the legislation passed that now gives power to leadership at the Department of Veterans Affairs, allowing them to more easily fire poorly performing employees.
The bill was signed into legislation on June 23 and after receiving bipartisan support in response to multiple investigations into veterans hospitals that found veterans were dying due to long wait times.
"Those wait times were bad weren't they? But they are getting better fast," Trump said on Saturday.
Trump returned to Washington, D.C., from his vacation in New Jersey to honor veterans by speaking at the John F. Kennedy Center rally.
