President Trump took a shot at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in what appeared to be a sarcastic tweet calling the leader "short and fat."

"Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen," Trump tweeted from Vietnam, Sunday morning local time.

The North Korean regime recently called Trump a "lunatic old man" that is escalating tensions by meeting with Asian leaders.

The two leaders have been quick to name-call one another since Trump took office. Kim had previously called Trump a "Dotard" and Trump frequently refers to Kim as "Rocket Man" and "Little Rocket Man."

Sen. John McCain has also gotten into the name-calling game, calling him a "crazy fat kid" in March.

During his nearly two week trip around Asia, Trump has been meeting with Asian leaders to commit to sanctions on North Korea to pressure them into laying off their missile and nuclear weapons programs.
