President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will travel to Texas and Louisiana on Saturday for their second visit to areas of the state affected by devastating flooding from Hurricane Harvey, the White House said Thursday.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said during the White House press briefing the specific cities the president and first lady are traveling to are still being finalized, but Trump tentatively plans to be in the Houston area and Lake Charles, La.
But Sanders warned the details of the president's trip could change depending on conditions.
Trump and Melania Trump traveled to Corpus Christi and Austin on Tuesday to meet with local and state officials. The president received briefings on rescue and recovery efforts during the trip.
During Tuesday's visit, Trump decided not to visit Houston, which has been the hardest hit by flooding, to ensure resources weren't diverted away from rescue efforts.
Southeastern Texas experienced record rainfall after Hurricane Harvey made landfall Friday. Thousands of people have been displaced, and Tom Bossert, a homeland security adviser, said 100,000 homes have been affected.
