President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will visit several countries in Asia during an 11-day trip for the first half of November, the White House announced Friday.

The president and first lady will visit Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines from Nov. 3 to Nov. 14. During their trip, Trump will participate in a number of meetings, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit.

The Trumps will also stop in Hawaii.

The White House said the president's 11-day trip will "strengthen the international resolve to confront the North Korean threat, and ensure the complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."

Trump also plans to highlight the "importance of fair and reciprocal economic ties with America's trade partners."
