President Trump will deliver a speech on tax reform Wednesday at the White House presenting his “closing argument” for tax reform, administration officials said Tuesday.

The address will take place as Senate and House negotiators gather at the Capitol for their first and only public conference committee meeting.

Trump will present an “aspirational argument” for why tax reform tops the agenda, a senior administration official told reporters, tying it to the viability of the American Dream.

He also will bring a handful of middle-income families from around the country into the White House and explain their tax situations and how the bill’s major provisions would help them.

The conference committee is expected to produce a report this week, congressional Republican leaders said Tuesday, allowing them to finalize a conference bill over the weekend. Then, the House and Senate would vote on final passage to send it to Trump’s desk.
